About Play Therapy
Is Play the same as Play therapy
Play is fundamental and is in itself therapeutic. However, children struggling with emotional, behavioural and social maladaptation need more than play. The key difference is the therapeutic alliance that a trained and a skilled play therapist brings into the equation. A play therapist gradually helps a child to uncover and become aware of the issues that are blocking their potential. The therapist enables the child to ‘play it out’ and build resilience and inner strength.
