About me
About the Therapist
I am Priya Rajan, a certified Therapeutic Play practitioner. I am a member of Play Therapy International (PTI)/ Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy (APAC). I am a member of the accredited Professional Standards Authorities Register (PSA) managed by PTUK (Play Therapy UK), and my Membership ID is 2022005658.
I help children work through their emotional, social and behavioural challenges.
Life experiences ushered me into the world of play therapy. I am curious and earnest in understanding the inner worlds of children. I worked in the Information and technology industry for over a decade. Then, I evolved through impactful life events and found my desire to work with children. As a play therapist, I have worked with children dealing with maladaptation such as; hyperactivity, attention deficit, inappropriate expression of anger & resistance, and acute social anxiety. I have also helped children emerge from insecure attachments, and difficult filial, peer and social relationships. I have assisted children deal with grief and loss. These are not labels but mere terms that help put the point across. I am aware that each child and his/her/their overwhelming situations are unique. My strength is the therapeutic relationship I build with my client and the Ethics I adhere to. They help me step into the child’s world and work towards his/her/their beneficence.
